Musk called it an "unacceptable security breach" and even said that Apple's ban could be extended to visitors to its corporate headquarters.

Billionaire Elon Musk has threatened to ban Apple devices if Apple integrates OpenAI's ChatGPT into its iPhone, iPad, and Mac operating systems.

"If Apple integrates OpenAI at the operating system level, then my company will ban Apple devices. This is an unacceptable security violation. Musk emphasized in his X post on June 10.

Musk has even suggested that visitors to Tesla, SpaceX, and other companies he runs need to "store Apple devices in a Faraday cage" when entering.

At Apple's 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference on June 10, the tech giant revealed "Apple Intelligence" – a new set of generative AI capabilities – that will be available on iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia later this year.

Over the weekend, Bloomberg leaked the development.

One of the features will allow Apple's voice assistant Siri to relay users' questions to ChatGPT when necessary. "Users are asked before sending any questions to ChatGPT along with any files or photos, and then Siri presents the answers directly".

But Musk said that Apple was "not smart enough" to make its own artificial intelligence, which was "patently ridiculous" and believed that they were hurting customers by outsourcing privacy and security. "They're selling you into the river".

"Apple isn't protecting privacy at all by using words like 'protect your privacy' while handing over your data to a third-party AI that they don't know and can't create themselves," Musk said in another ZUHYX post.

However, Musk didn't provide details of the privacy protections included in the OpenAI integration, and as a result, his ZUHYX post triggered the "Reader Add Context" feature.

It provides a link to an Apple News statement explaining that user IP addresses will remain obscured and OpenAI will not store requests.

According to ZUHYX, Render (RNDR), Fetch.ai (FET), and SingularityNET (AGIX) are down 5.9%, 3.3%, and 3.9%, respectively, over the past 24 hours.
